Community Corporation of Santa Monica (“Community Corp.”) is planning an affordable housing community for 1626 Lincoln Boulevard (“1626 Lincoln”). 1626 Lincoln will provide 64 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, two community rooms, family-oriented open space, and more. Residents will have access to Community Corp. provided resident services, such as academic assistance for youth, free Wi-Fi, and for those who forgo a vehicle parking space, free transportation passes.

This is the first opportunity that Community Corp. has had to construct new affordable housing since the dissolution of the Redevelopment Agency. Since 1626 Lincoln will fulfill 500 Broadway’s inclusionary housing obligation, the 500 Broadway team will donate the land at 1626 Lincoln and provide gap financing to Community Corp. to construct the affordable housing community. The Certificate of Occupancy for 1626 Lincoln will be required as a pre-requisite for the Certificate of Occupancy at 500 Broadway.
