PRIVACY POLICY
Community Corporation of Santa Monica, its subsidiaries, affiliates and related companies (“CCSM,” “we” or “us”) are sensitive to the privacy of visitors to CCSM’s Website (the “Website”), and understand the need for appropriate protections and management of your personal information that is provided to CCSM via the Website. Accordingly, we have established this Privacy Policy to help you understand what information we collect and how that information is used. By using the Website, you consent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Website. If you disagree with any provision and/change to this Privacy Policy, do not use the Website. Your use of the Website will be deemed acceptance of this Privacy Policy as well as its Terms of Use.
INFORMATION COLLECTED
We collect information from our users at various points on the Website. For example, the user’s browser lets us know the type of computer and operating system being used. This allows us to analyze the information as to which parts of our Website users spend their time but does not give us any personal information about the user. We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design the Website and properly display information to you. Our web servers record your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address and the pages you visit while on the Website. We use this information for internal tracking purposes, to enhance your experience on the Website, to respond to your requests, and to advise you of information about CCSM.
At times, however, we will ask you to voluntarily provide information about yourself. For example, the online forms used include required and optional information. If you do not wish to provide required information, then your choice is to not make use of the online forms. We do not collect any personally identifiable information about you unless you provide it to us voluntarily. It is your decision whether to continue with any activity that requests personal information.
Any personal information you submit to the Website while signing up for CCSM mailings, answering a survey, applying for a position or making a donation will not be sold or disclosed to a third-party for any marketing purpose.
INFORMATION USE
We are the owner of the information collected on the Website. We will not sell, trade or rent this information to others for their direct marketing efforts. However, we may disclose such information to third parties for other purposes, as set forth in this Privacy Policy. For example, we use the services of third parties to provide us with data collection, reporting and website and mobile application analytics, as well as to assist with delivery of relevant marketing messages. Additionally, CCSM uses the information you provide about yourself when making a donation to process your gift and to communicate with you about the work of CCSM. CCSM also uses the personal information you provide CCSM for marketing, demographic and analytical purposes, such as to demonstrate the need for affordable housing in a particular geographic area, or pursue donations and volunteers to further our mission, to fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it, in any other way we may describe when you provide the information, and for any other purpose with your consent. Moreover, if you decide to opt-in to CCSM’s mailing list, you will receive e-mails that may include CCSM news, updates, related products or service information. We may use third party service providers to help us operate our business and the Website or administer activities on our behalf, such as sending out newsletters and surveys. These third parties will have access to personally identifiable information solely to perform their functions and provide their services to CCSM. We are not responsible for, not do we have liability in connection with the control or use of the information by such third parties. Finally, CCSM may share/release your personal information: (1) when such release is necessary to comply with the law or in connection with a legal claim or proceeding; (2) to enforce or apply our Terms of Use or other agreements; (3) to protect the rights, property, or safety of CCSM or our users; (4) to fulfill the purpose for which you provide it; (5) for any other purpose disclosed by us when you voluntarily provide the information; or (6) with your consent.
